Born in Bucharest, Romania.  German and Romanian citizenship.
Lived in Romania, Germany, UK, Poland, and Moldova. Married, two children.
Speaks fluently:  German, Romanian, English.

2007-1995 freelance producer and cameraman for Sat1, Pro7, RTL, ZDF, ARD, 3sat, Vox, NDR, BBC, Arte, German Academy of Arts, Sony Music
1995-1991 programme adviser for the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival in charge of the selection for Romania, Moldova, Spain
1994-1989 studied documentary film making at The National Film and Television School of Great Britain. Some tutors: Colin Young CBE (former head of UCLA and NFTS), Herb di Gioia, Mamoun Hassan (former head of the British Film Institute Production Board), Sanford Lieberson (former President of Production at 20th Century Fox and Metro Goldwyn Mayer), Walter Lassally (Oscar in Best Cinematography for  “Zorba the Greek” ), István Szabó.
1990-1989 studied film direction at The Polish National Film School in Lodz with Prof. Kazimierz Karabasz (mentor of Krzysztof Kieslowski)
1988-1986 Theatre and Film Studies at The Free University Berlin with Prof. Henning Rischbieter
